ISAP 2025 Student Design Contest

ISAP2025 Student Design Contest (SDC) will take place during the 2025 International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation (ISAP2025) at ACROS Fukuoka in Fukuoka, Japan, from October 27 (Monday) through 31 (Friday), 2025. The aim of the ISAP2025 SDC is to promote student innovation and creative activities in the fields of antennas, propagation, and the related research. The contest will recognize excellent designs at the conference and will present cash awards!

The ISAP2025 SDC has two contest categories.

  • Category A. Received Signal Strength Estimation
  • Category B. Flexible Antenna Design

Eligibility

  1. Each team must consist of 1 to 4 student members.
  2. All members must be full-time students.
  3. Each team can be advised by a professional mentor such as a professor, researcher, or engineer in an industry.
  4. No member should belong to multiple teams in the same category.

Application and Judgment Process

  1. Each team must submit the SDC application by June 27, 2025. Please refer to the instructions below for details on completing the application form and the proposed paper for each category. Please note that ISAP2025 does not provide financial support for SDC applications.
  2. The SDC committee will select finalists based on the above application form and will notify the results by email in July 2025.
  3. All members of each finalist team are requested to attend the contest in person at the ISAP2025. Winners will be selected based on the quality of their design, solution, and overall performance in the competition. The winners in each category will receive awards and cash prizes.

Paper submission

  1. The teams should use the template of SDC proposal to write their proposal paper, which is in an A4-sized PDF of up to 2 pages. The proposal should be submitted to EDAS. For further guidance, please refer to the provided template file (Microsoft Word format).
  2. The proposal may include an appendix with the results of the calculation or experiment. This appendix should consist of figures, tables or their minimum descriptions. The page limit does not include the appendix.
  3. Each team must prepare a confirmation letter (PDF) issued by their supervisor. The confirmation letter should be submitted via the following link:

Other requirements

  1. All members of finalist teams must to register to the symposium as student by the early-bird registration deadline.
  2. The SDC committee will select finalists based on the above application form and will notify the results by email in July 2025.
  3. All members of finalist teams are requested to show proof of their affiliation (Student ID, etc.) as of the date of participation.
